Cautions: cardiovascular disease (avoid if severe), diabetes mellitus, thyroid, history of gastric & peptic ulcers. The user should not smoke and use patches or nicotine replacement products in combination. Exercise may increase absorption. Patches should not be used on broken skin.
Not suitable for pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, or those under 18 years old.
Children should not come into contact with Nicotine Patches
Side effects: nausea dizziness, headache and cold and influenza-like symptoms, heart palpitations, gastro-intestinal disturbances, vivid dreams. Other side effects reported included chest pain, blood pressure changes, anxiety, irritability, impaired concentration, and abnormal hunger. With NRT Sprays – nasal irritation, nose bleeds, watering eyes, ear sensations. With NRT Gum, lozenges, inhalator and tablets – Mouth ulcers, sometimes with swelling of the tongue and throat irritation.
